§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsThe Government remains firmly committed to the principle of a public lending right for authors based on a sample of loans. We hope in due course to reintroduce our own Bill to establish that right. In the meantime we are actively pursuing the authors' suggestion of a non-statutory scheme.
