HL Deb 28 February 1978 vol 389 cc469-70WA
Lord LLOYD of KILGERRAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether any invention, patentable or otherwise, or useful know-how or new technology has arisen or is likely to arise in the course of the collaborative programmes in the EEC Civil Aircraft sector outlined in the Government's memorandum of 17th January, 1978; and if so:—

  1. (a) who are or will be the owners in the property in such inventions, know-how or new technology; and
  2. (b) what steps have been or will be taken to market such property to the advantage of the EEC economy as a whole.

Lord WINTERBOTTOM

The collaborative programmes in the EEC Civil Aircraft sector outlined in the Government's memorandum of 17th January have not yet been agreed and therefore no inventions have yet arisen. In the case of new collaborative civil aircraft projects it would he, in the first instance, for the participating manufacturers to agree on their respective rights in, and the commercial exploitation of, any inventions or developments made during the projects.
