HL Deb 28 February 1978 vol 389 c466WA
Lord DOUGLAS of BARLOCH

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will complete the Answer on the advanced gas cooled reactors given on 7th February (col. 1028) by stating the quantity of gaseous and liquid radioactive wastes which the reactor will produce each year of operation and the quantity which will remain in existence (wherever situated) when the plant is closed down.

Lord STRABOLGI:

The chairman of the Central Electricity Generating Board is being asked to send to my noble friend, in consultation with the chairman of the South of Scotland Electricity Board, estimates of the likely annual discharge rates which are likely to operate over the lifetime of a typical advanced gas cooled reactor.
