HC Deb 27 February 1978 vol 945 c98W
Mr. James White

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration he is giving to the uses which could be made of the growing amount of school accommodation which will be released by falling numbers of pupils in the coming years.

Mr. McElhone

A discussion paper on this subject, and on the associated question of priorities in the improvement of unsatisfactory accommodation, has been sent to the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities and other interested bodies. I have invited them to let me have their views by 30th April. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of the paper and am placing a copy in the Library.
