HC Deb 27 February 1978 vol 945 cc45-6W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what criteria he uses in appointing the members of regional health authorities.

Mr. Ennals

In carrying out the duty laid on me by the National Health Service Act 1977, I am concerned to appoint people who are best suited in every respect to undertake the important duties attached to membership. In doing so, I take account of many factors, including personal qualities, background experience, interest in and commitment to the National Health Service, age and health.
