Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will list in the Official Report the total value of United Kingdom imports from all sources in 1977, the total value of imports from Lomé countries in 1977 and the second figure as a percentage of the first.

Mr. Meacher

Total United Kingdom imports in 1977 were valued at £36,493 million cif of which £1,454 million cif, or 4.0 per cent, by value, were consigned from the African, Caribbean and Pacific states which are currently parties to the Convention of Lomé.
