16. Mr. David Watkins

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what industrial expansion he expects to provide in Consett and Stanley, County Durham, in the next financial year.

Mr. Cryer

Regional selective assistance has been offered to date under Section 7 of the Industry Act 1972 to 10 projects located in Consett and Stanley which are expected to provide 380 new jobs in the year ending March 1979. Fur-the industrial expansion in the area is being encouraged by the wide range of regional and other incentives available from my Department.
