Official Report, 20th February, column 449, that the number of civil servants had fallen by 8,200 during 1977, to what extent that fall was accounted for by the transfer of personnel or functions to quasiautonomous government organisations.
§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisThere were no transfers of posts to quasi-government organisations. The overall reduction during 1977 reflects the Government's efforts to contain expenditure on the Civil Service.
