§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what further consideration he has given to the need to strengthen consumer representation in the nationalised industries; and when he expects to be able to put forward firm proposals.
§ Mr. MaclennanThe Government will be putting forward proposals in the White Paper on nationalised industries, which will I hope be published shortly. Progress has already been made with, for instance, the setting-up of the new Electricity Consumers Council for England and Wales and the appointment of two consumer members to the new Post Office Board.
