§ 15. Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Industry what is his estimate of the total of financial assistance likely to be paid by his Department to private industry for the forthcoming financial year.
§ Mr. CryerThe 1978–79 provision for my Department, included in Programme 4 of "The Government's Expenditure Plans", Cmnd. 7049—Volume II, was £1,162 million net of receipts, at 1977 survey prices. Most of this expenditure is in support of private industry. Detailed forecasts for 1978–79 wil lappear in the Supply Estimates in the normal way.
§ Mr. Woofasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will publish in the Official Report a table of the level of State aid to industry for each year since 1974, showing loans and grants separately for, respectively, investment grants, local employment acts, regional employment premium, export rebates, export credit guarantees, military aerospace research and development, civil aerospace and other research and development, shipbuilding, agriculture, fisheries and forestry.
