Mr. Prescott

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many fishermen are registered for fishing in the United Kingdom distributed by proportion and amount for the following areas: Grimsby, Hull, Aberdeen, Lowestoft, Fleetwood, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, and England and Wales, respectively.

Self-employed or shore-fishermen do not register for employment. The information given below is based on data collected by the Fisheries Department indicating the average numbers regularly engaged in fishing at 31st December 1977:
