§ Mr. William RodgersThere is no proposal to legislate to prohibit speedometers registering miles per hour, but many speedometers are already marked in both miles and kilometers and new cars manufactured on or after 1st October 1978 and coming into use on or after 1st April 1979 will be required to have speedometers marked in both ways.
