§ Mr. GoldingI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that information on the number of workers involved in redundancies in the recorded closures of manufacturing industrial establishments in each of the last three years, or to the latest available date, is not readily available and cannot be provided without a disproportionate charge on public funds. However, information324W on redundancies in manufacturing industrial establishments recorded as due to occur is available, and the number of workers involved are as follows:
- February 1975 to January 1976=211,935
- February 1976to January 1977=107,670
- February 1977 to January 1978=96,699*
