HL Deb 16 February 1978 vol 388 c1537WA
Lord ORR-EWING

asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (a) how many persons are now employed by BNOC;
  2. (b) how many of these are working in London and in Glasgow;
  3. (c) what is the average salary compared with equivalent persons in the Civil Service; and
  4. (d) how many Rover cars have been supplied and ordered for BNOC staff.

Lord STRABOLGI

With the exception of (c), these are matters for the Corporation, but I am advised by the chairman that, as at 31st December 1977, BNOC employed 754 people, divided between Glasgow, Aberdeen and London as to 231, 208 and 315. Meaningful comparisons concerning salaries are difficult to make. I will ask the chairman to write to the noble Lord about (d).
