§ Dr. GilbertAn estimated 200,000 job opportunities are generated directly in the defence industries as a result of the United Kingdom's defence equipment programme, and about a further 70,000 by the manufaoturc of defence equipment for sale overseas. There has been no significant change in these estimates over the past two years.
