§ Mr. Fryasked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) what is the latest position in respect of the construction of trunk road schemes within the East Midlands Region which are scheduled to start in 1978 or 1979;
(2) what is the latest position in respect of the construction of trunk road schemes within the Eastern Road Construction Unit area which were scheduled to start in 1978 or 1979;
(3) what is the latest position in respect of the construction of trunk road schemes within the South-East Road Construction Unit area which were scheduled to start in 1978 or 1979.
§ Mr. HoramConstruction has started on A27 Lewes South Street and tendering procedures are in progress on:
- M25 Egham—Yeoveney
- M25 Thorpe—Chertsey
- A3 Burpham—Ladymead
- M20 Ashford—Sellindge
- M20 Sellindge—Folkestone
All other trunk road schemes in these areas are currently under review in the light of the White Paper on Transport Policy and the Leitch report. Announcements about start dates will be made in due course.
