asked the Secretary of State for Employment how much financial assistance the United Kingdom Government have received from the European Social Fund towards the cost of Government-supported training and resettlement schemes, and of the resettlement services for the disabled.

In respect of the period from 1st January 1973 to 31st December 1977, about £220 million—including £22 million for disabled people—has been allocated to the United Kingdom from the European Social Fund for operations undertaken or supported by the Government.
