HC Deb 15 February 1978 vol 944 cc245-6W
Mr. Kimball

asked the Secretary of State for Employment when he expects to open the new jobcentre in Gainsborough.

Mr. Golding

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that attempts by the Employment Service Agency (ESA) to obtain suitable jobcentre premises in Gainsborough have so far been unsuccessful. As the present employment office building is unsuitable for conversion, the Property Services Agency, on behalf of the ESA, is undertaking a feasibility study to determine whether the site could be used for the provision of a jobcentre. As it is likely to take some time before a decision is taken, it is not possible to estimate when a jobcentre will be opened in Gainsborough.
