Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister, pursuant to his reply of 25th January to the hon. Member for Newham, North-West, if he will now publish the details of staff employed at 10 Downing Street as promised by that reply.

The Prime Minister

The number of staff employed in 10 Downing Street on 1st January 1978 was 70 full-time and one part-time. These figures comprise:

The revised Estimate for 1977–78 for salaries is £435,000.
