§ Mr. Litterickasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many stable lads are currently registered as unemployed at the employment offices in the Newmarket area; how many have been unemployed for more than six months; and what were the figures 12 months ago.
§ Mr. GoldingI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that the number of stable hands registered at the Newmarket employment office on 2nd February 1978 was 15–12 men and three women. Of these, seven men and one woman have been unemployed for more than six months. The number of such persons registered 12 months ago is not available.
