§ Mr. LuardRecent changes have widened coverage of the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance; extended the time allowed for claims and the cover for medical expenses to 24 months; imposed a surcharge on employers who default on payment; ensured that compensation covers treatment costs and removed some anomalies. 99 per cent. of employees in the private sector and all public employees are now eligible for such compensation.
