HC Deb 15 December 1978 vol 960 c543W
Mr. Ashley

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will introduce legislation to seek to prevent British Railways from refusing to sell cheap day-return tickets to registered blind people who are accompanied by an escort.

Mr. William Rodgers:

Cheap day tickets are available to blind people and their escorts in the same way as to other members of the public. In addition, British Rail allow a blind person with an escort to travel at half the ordinary return fare on certain journeys.
