§ Mr. Parkasked the Secretary of State for Employment what response he has had from nationalised industries and other public bodies regarding the provision of information about their racial equality policies.
§ Mr. John Grant:Responses have been received from a number of public bodies and these are now being examined and followed up as necessary by my Department. The nationalised industries and other public bodies were asked to undertake a review of their racial equality policies and this of course takes time. In a number of cases replies are not now expected until well into the new year. Where replies appear to be overdue Departments responsible for public sector bodies have been asked to pursue the matter urgently.
