Grant towards the costs of trade union education and training incurred by the TUC and affiliated independent unions is paid jointly by my Department and by the Department of Employment. That grant is administered by the TUC in accordance with an agreed memorandum of arrangements. In the financial year 1977–78, £15,198.73 was paid to NUMW under those arrangements; no payment has been made to date in the current financial year.
