§ 18. Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the total amount of grants paid out in the current year under section 7 of the Industry Act 1972.
Mr. Alan Williams:The latest figures available for the current financial year are for the period 1st April to 31st October 1978. They show that £53 million was paid out in grants under section 7 of the Industry Act 1972. This figure includes payments for regional selective financial assistance in England, Scotland and Wales and, secondly, payments for the shipbuilding intervention fund.
