Mr. Cope

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing, for each quarter since 1974 using 1975 as a base, earning and wages per head in manufacturing for each member of the European Community, the United States of America and Japan.

The available information is given in the following table. In making comparisons it is important to note that there are differences in coverage and methods of compilation used for the series in each country, the most important of which are indicated in the footnotes.
