§ Mr. Moyle:On 31st March 1978 there were 253 places in local authority day nurseries in the Rochdale metropolitan district. In addition, private premises were registered to provide all-day care for up to 154 children.
The local authority plans to provide a further 27 day nursery places within the next two years ; no information is available about possible increases in private provision.
