Mr. David Young

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what is the pupil-teacher ratio in primary schools in each region in each of the last five years: and what action has been taken to reduce it ;

(2) what is the pupil-teacher ratio in each region in secondary education ; and what action has been taken to reduce it.
