§ Mr. Deakins:The number of beds available in National Health Service hospitals in England on 31st December 1977 was 375,926.
The numbers of State registered nurses and state enrolled nurses—whole-time equivalents—employed in National 236W Health Service hospitals in England on 30th September 1977 were 87,966 and 50,527 respectively.
