§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether the Council of Ministers or the Commission has considered in relation to the plastics industry the possibility of providing legislation similar to the Robinson-Patman Act of the United States of America; and if he will outline the Government's policy in this.
§ Mr. Les Huckfield:I am advised that the possibility has not been considered by the Council of Ministers or the Commission. The Government's view, however, is that there would be considerable practical difficulties in introducing such legislation in Europe, given the differences in market structure.
