§ Mr. Geraint Howellsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many refugees from each of the countries in the southern zone of Latin America were accepted for settlement in Great Britain in 1977 and how many have been accepted so far in 1978.
§ Mr. John:I regret that information is not available in the form requested. In 1977, 648 people arrived here under the special programme for refugees from the Chilean regime; and 286 people arrived here from Argentina. There is a substantial overlap between these two categories, since some refugees from the Chilean regime arrived here from Argentina. The corresponding figures for the first six months of 1978 were 253 and 86.
