Mr. Wm. Rossasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what further steps he intends to take to ensure that persons leaving schools and other educational establishments are aware of the social security benefits available to them when they start work or transfer to other jobs.
§ Mr. Orme:The DHSS leaflet NP12 provides school leavers throughout the United Kingdom with guidance on national insurance benefits and the contributions required to qualify for them. It is issued by careers offices but is also available at local social security offices. It is to be expanded shortly to provide information about eligibility to supplementary and other benefits.
