§ Mr. Brothertonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in the light of the TUC's intention to give increases in pay to its staff beyond the Government's pay limit, whether he has any plans to operate sanctions against the TUC including the withdrawal of quasi-autonomous nongovernmental organisation posts from its members.
§ Mr. Joel Barnett:The main features of the TUC settlement with its staff were reported to my right hon. Friend the 191W Secretary of State for Employment by the TUC. and he is awaiting a reply to his subsequent request for additional information. It would, therefore, be premature to comment further.
