§ 32. Mr. Ovendenasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many employees are covered by pay settlements which have been concluded within the Government's current guidelines on pay.
§ Mr. Harold Walker:As I have previously made clear, my Department maintains comprehensive monitoring only of major settlements, which cover about half the total labour force. In the current pay round major settlements have so far been reached within the Government's guidelines for almost 350,000 employees.
