§ Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what financial help he is giving to the Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisMy Department is currently making a contribution of £12,000 a year towards the general administrative costs of the assocation. This grant was made in the financial year 1977–78 and is being continued in the current financial year and in 1979–80. In addition, we are making an annual grant of £13,750 towards the salary and expenses of one of the association's field officers over the same period. I have also recently approved a grant of £5,000 for the current financial year towards the costs of the association's new social rehabilitation training courses for young people. I am much impressed by the enterprising and imaginative work of the association and am very glad to have been able to give it practical support.
