§ 51. Mr. John H. Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Transport, when the final link of the M18 is opened to the immediate east of the junction and bridge over the Al. what distances will be dual carriageway three-lane, what will be two-lane, and, of this, what readily convertible to three-lane.

M18 Motorway Section Length (miles) Standard Ml (Thurcroft) to A1(M) (Wadworth) 8¼ Dual 3-lane A1(M) to M180 (Ings) 12 Dual 2-lane Ml 80 to M62 (East Cowick) 6 Dual 3-lane Of the dual two-lane section, lengths of one mile northwards from A1(M) to St. Catherines interchange and about 1,100 yards south of the M180 interchange can readily be converted to dual three-lanes because the necessary land has already been acquired.
