§ Mr. Leeasked the Lord President of the Council (1) how many times since 1945 to the latest available date the House has considered Lords amendments to a Public Bill which were made by the House of Lords in lieu of previous amendments to which this House had disagreed; in how many such cases an impasse was reached leading to the operation of the Parliament Acts; in how many 657W instances the procedure was continued so as to involve the consideration of amendments in lieu on a second or subsequent occasion; and if he will make a statement;
(2) on how many occasions in the past 10 years a Public Bill, returned from the House of Lords, has contained Lords amendments imposing a change which was not sanctioned by a Money Resolution moved by a Minister of the Crown; if he will bring forward proposals to seek to amend the relevant Standing Orders so as to remove such Lords amendments from their scope and so permit debate; and if he will make a statement;
(3) on how many occasions since 1974 the House has considered Lords amendments to Public Bills which originated in this House; and what were the corresponding figures between 1970 and 1974.
