Mr. Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what steps he is taking to ensure the free movement of HMS "Renown" and HMS "Repulse" in obeyance of instructions issued and in accordance with their programme;

(2) whether the movements of HMS "Renown" and HMS "Repulse" are restricted through union action.

Mr. Mulley

There is no immediate requirement to move HMS "Renown" or HMS "Repulse" but I shall, of course, continue to keep the situation under review.
