HC Deb 03 August 1978 vol 955 c542W
Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he will now give a revised estimate of the cost at July 1978 prices of "Plan for Coal", which was originally £1,400 million at March 1974 prices, but was subsequently revised to £3,150 million on the basis of changed assumptions; and whether he will break down the latest figure into major projects and other expenditure.

Mr. Eadie

The equivalent total figure at July 1978 prices is £4,340 million. The breakdown between major projects and other expenditure is:

Major projects £2,060 million
Other expenditure £2,280 million
