HC Deb 03 August 1978 vol 955 cc681-2W
Mr. Lawrence

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans he has for the improvement of hospital facilities in Burton-on-Trent.

Mr. Moyle

I understand that, later this year, the Staffordshire Area Health Authority expects to propose to the West Midlands Regional Health Authority further major developments at the Burton Hospital Centre in the 1980s.

Already approved and in the capital programme for the next three years are the following schemes: At Burton General Hospital. Additional beds for gynaecology and improved emergency admission facilities. At the Burton District Hospital Centre. A day room extension for the mentally ill and a development assessment unit for children under 5.
