HC Deb 03 August 1978 vol 955 c682W
Mr. Penhaligon

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the correction factors for population age characteristics applied to each health authority in England when calculating the finance allocated.

Mr. Moyle

In calculating target allocations for regional health authorities, a number of weighting factors and adjustments are made to regional populations but there is no correction factor for age alone. Regional health authorities have generally, but not in all cases, followed a similar methodology in calculating area target allocations.
