HC Deb 03 August 1978 vol 955 cc687-8W
Mr. Arthur Latham

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many social service departments have designated specialist social workers for the elderly.

Mr. Bowden

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many social service departments have designated specialist social workers for the elderly.

Mr. Moyle

I regret this information is not available. The nature of social work training is such that it equips individuals to work with a variety of client groups and it is unlikely at the present time that many social service departments would designate specialist social workers for the elderly.
