HC Deb 03 August 1978 vol 955 c597W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Minister of Overseas Development if she will list the countries which have received more than £50 million by way of bilateral aid from the United Kingdom since 1964; and what other countries will have received this amount when current firm aid commitments are taken into account.

Mr. Tomlinson

The following received gross aid exceeding £50 million from the United Kingdom between 1964 and 1977:

Bangladesh Malta
Botswana Nigeria
India Pakistan
Indonesia Solomon Islands
Kenya Swaziland
Malawi Turkey
Malaysia Zambia

The information looking to the future involves detailed analysis of commitments. We have already undertaken to write to the hon. Member about outstanding aid commitments and will cover this point in that letter.
