§ Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied with the operation of the experimental scheme in the North-West Midlands advertising on posters a free advice scheme for welfare benefit claimants; if he has received any representations on the working of the scheme; and if he will consider extending it to other areas.
§ Mr. OrmeThis scheme is being run by the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux (NACAB) and there are some difficulties about the NACAB posters displayed by my Department's local offices. I have received representations from NACAB about these difficulties into which inquiries are being made. The question of an extension will be considered after full evaluation of the experimental scheme, which is still continuing.
