HC Deb 02 August 1978 vol 955 c365W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what directives or instructions or policy guide lines he has issued to the National Enterprise Board about the involvement of companies in which it has a major holding in the economy of South Africa.

Mr. Les Huckfield

The Government's declared policy on trade with and investment in South Africa will be known to the NEB and its subsidiaries as to other British companies. The NEB and its companies will also be aware of Cmnd. 7233 of 25th May, which commended the code of Conduct adopted by the Governments of the nine member States of the European Community on employment practices for companies with interests in South Africa.
