HC Deb 02 August 1978 vol 955 c431W
Mr. Ronald Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will hold a public inquiry into (a) the circumstances surrounding the death of Samuel Davis, aged 11 years, taking into account the lack of treatment given at St. Leonard's Hospital, Nuttal Street, and (b) why the ambulance was delayed for two hours before responding to the emergency call on Thursday 15th June, during which time Samuel Davis died.

Mr. Moyle

The City and East London Area Health Authority (Teaching) will decide whether further inquiry into what occurred at the hospital is necessary when it considers the report on the internal investigation now in progress. According to the records of the London ambulance service an emergency call was received at 10.51 a.m. and the ambulance arrived at the house at 11 a.m.
