HC Deb 02 August 1978 vol 955 cc349-50W
38. Mr. Edwin Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Transport, in view of the fact that the roads in the area between Barnsley and Doncaster are inadequate to carry present day traffic, if he will make a statement on present plans to improve these roads.

Mr. Horam

South Yorkshire County Council is responsible for planning and programming developments to the local road network in this area. I believe that it is considering a number of improvements. In addition, the Department has schemes planned for this financial year and next which will improve two junctions on the A638 trunk road just north of Doncaster.
