HC Deb 02 August 1978 vol 955 cc322-3W
Mr. Edward Lyons

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on how many occasions the Police Complaints Board rejected the decisions of chief constables that a complaint does not call for disciplinary action against the officer concerned.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I understand from the chairman of the Board that between 1st June 1977 and 30th June 1978 the Board recommended the bringing of disciplinary charges in four cases in which the deputy chief constable had decided not to do so.
