Mr. Woodall

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if the £44.50 minimum earnings level referred to in paragraph 17 of the White Paper "Winning the Battle against Inflation" applies to female workers under the age of 18 years and to male workers under the age of 21 years; and whether there is any lower age limit on this exception.

Mr. Harold Walker,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 31st July 1978], gave the following information:

The figure of £44.50 should be applied on a pro rata basis to juveniles and to part-time workers.
