§ Mr. Berryasked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the latest figures for the numbers of persons unemployed in each of the 32 London boroughs; and what are the figures for a similar date in the years 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977.
§ Mr. Golding,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 31st July 1978], gave the following information:
Unemployment statistics are compiled for employment office areas and not for London boroughs. The only estimates that can be given for London boroughs are combinations of these employment office area totals, and figures prepared on this basis have been given in the table below. Information has been given for 397W July 1974 and July 1978, the first and last of the dates specified and could be provided for all of the dates listed only at disproportionate cost.
